*** DESTINATION ***

*** BACKUP TYPE ***
Use the arrow keys to choose which of the five kinds of
backup you wish to make.
--Full Backup: Backs up all selected files in all
directories of the selected hard disk.
--Incremental Backup: Backs up all files changed since the
last partial backup. After completion, marks files as backed
up. Restoring your hard disk would require restoring the
last full backup, which would prompt you to use subsequent
incremental backups as well.
--Differential Backup: Backs up all files changed since the
last full backup. Does not mark files as backed up after
completing the backup. Restoring your hard disk would
require restoring the last full backup followed by the last
differential backup.
--Separate Incremental: Backs up all files changed since the
last partial backup but keeps data separate from other
backups. To restore your hard disk, you would restore the
last full backup and then restore all the intervening
incremental backups.
--Copy To New Computer: Backs up all selected files without
marking them as backed up. Useful for transferring data to a
different hard disk or for making a secondary backup (a
backup of your backup). Do not use for routine backup
operations.
Guidelines for choosing Backup Type:
--Use full backup once a week.
--Use incremental backup daily if you typically use many
different files from one day to the next.
--Use differential backup daily if you typically use the
same small group of files daily.
--Use separate incremental if your preference is to keep
your incremental backups distinct from full the backups.

*** PREVIEW BACKUP ***
Provides a non-interactive list of all the files and
directories on the selected hard disk with selected files
marked with a triangle.
A triangle before a directory- or subdirectory-name indicates

for backup.
Use keypad cursor keys to move the cursor.

*** START BACKUP ***
Select Start Backup from the main menu to invoke the Backup
Progress screen.
The Backup Progress menu offers three choices:

--approximate time required.
Start Backup begins the backup.
Quit returns you to the main menu.
Notes about the Backup Progress screen:
--Change diskettes when prompted.
--Change diskettes when prompted, even if the red light

Destination in the backup you wish to restore.

*** WRITE OVER ***
Specifies what to do if FASTBACK PLUS finds an existing file
on the hard disk with the same name as a backup file.
The submenu offers three Write Over choices:
Never:
FASTBACK PLUS never overwrites an existing file on the hard
disk. (Useful when you do not want existing files on the hard
disk changed by the restore.)
Older Files Only:
FASTBACK PLUS compares the dates of the existing file and the
backup file and leaves the more recent file on the hard disk.
(Useful for keeping the latest version of files if you must
restore an incremental backup out of chronological order.)
Always:
FASTBACK PLUS always replaces the disk file with the backup
version.
Default: Older Files Only.
*H_re_af
*** ARCHIVE FLAG ***
Choose whether to mark restored files as backed up or not
backed up, or to ignore the archive bit and leave it set as
recorded in the backup set. Highlight your choice and press
<Enter>.
Default: Leave Alone.
*H_re_dp
*** DIRECTORY ***
Choose whether to restore files to their original directories
or to the default directory.
The submenu offers two choices:
Create Only If Needed:
Restores files to their original directory and subdirectory
paths. Use this choice, for example, to restore a re-
formatted hard disk so that it has the same organization it
had in the backup set. FASTBACK PLUS will create director
